Until early 2023, Dr. Maccarini worked at P&O Marinas. She holds a PHD in Geotechnical engineering with an extensive record in ports, marine and waterfront developments and has specific expertise in Superyacht facilities. Since 2007 she has been working as consultant and development manager for marina developments and infrastructure for Clients in the United Arab Emirates and elsewhere.

Fabiana MSc. Graduated in Environmental Engineering (1999), Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture in Rome (2006), Dr. Maccarini has coordinated international publications and holds seminars on planning, design and management of marinas and waterfront developments.

Since 2009 she is the Italian representative member of Recreational Navigation Commission (RecCom) of PIANC, the World Association for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure, based in Brussels (Belgium). She is presently selected Member of MEDA (Marina Excellence Design ‘J. Nichol’ Award), co-contributor for MDTP (Marina Design Training Program), selected Member and Co-author of PIANC WG 134 ‘Design and Operational Guidelines for Superyacht Facilities’.

Since 2010 to 2014 she has worked as International Business Developer for an Italian Construction Company for commercial ports and touristic marinas. Dr. Maccarini has coordinated international publications and holds seminars on marinas and Yachting hubs. She has published articles in national and international journals and conferences.
