Established in 2020 as part of AD Ports Group cooperation with the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), Abu Dhabi Maritime is the primary custodian of Abu Dhabi’s waterways and marine ecosystems, addressing various needs of maritime companies, businesses and the public through several services. It is mandated with developing the maritime sector’s strategy and ensuring compliance.

Abu Dhabi Maritime manages and regulates 45,000 km of waterbody, 2,400 km of coastline, 215+ islands, 50 marked channels, 23 commercial, petroleum and community ports, 1000+ maritime companies, 90 marine facilities, 8,000+ pleasure boats, 3,600+ jet skis, and 40,000 vessel movements. In addition, it oversees commercial and community ports, leisure marinas, vessels, waterway users (commercial and private), maritime service companies and other marine infrastructures.
